3 ways to get more students this fall!

For many private music teachers, the summer can be a tough time for enrollment as families’ weekly schedules are interrupted by vacations and summer camps. Luckily back-to-school enrollment season is always a busy one for us music teachers, and it’s right around the corner! There are some really simple and cost-effective ways to leverage your current student body to set yourself up for success in the months to come!

Ask your current families for reviews!

A great way to promote yourself online and build up trust in your local community is to garner some fantastic reviews for your studio. If you don’t have a google my business page, you should definitely get one set up. Once you do, you can email or text you your families a link to your review page. Here is a link to Google’s instructions on how to do so: Get Google Reviews. There are of course a lot of other places you can ask for reviews whether it be Yelp or Facebook! Remember to always respond to your reviews publicly and thank them for sharing their feedback about your studio.

Set up a Referral Program!

Setting up a referral program for your studio is a fantastic way to help remind your current families to recommend you to their friends! At Practice Space, we have gotten to work with and talk to so many different studio owners, and we have seen a wide array of options for this from seasonal raffles to Amazon gift cards. A fantastic way to remind people about your referral program is to have it in your email signature or at the bottom of any newsletters you send out. You should also always give the referral gift to the family that signed up because of a referral so they know about the program. Example: Joan’s kids have been taking lessons with you and they recommend their friend Suzanne to your program. If you give a $10 Amazon gift card to people who refer others to your studio, you’d give the referral gift to both Joan and Suzanne. This way Suzanne will be motivated to recommend others as well. You can do whatever gift you’d like of course - even a handwritten thank you note goes a long way!

Make your studio more engaging!

One of our goals at Practice Space is to help teachers engage with their students when they are practicing with an awesome array of tools, including digital assignment creation and progress tracking. Teachers can also provide personalized and timely feedback, stimulating student engagement and motivation. Features such as practice streaks and badges add a gamification layer, making learning music more fun and compelling. By integrating technology and interactive elements, Practice Space enhances traditional teaching methods, making each studio a vibrant hub of musical exploration and achievement.
